Pre-Ratification Toolkit

The Dignity Audit Toolkit is currently going through some final changes before we send it off for ratification by Liverpool City Council. Once these last tweaks have been made, we will be releasing the draft version of the toolkit on this blog!

Although we can no longer make any changes to the toolkit, this will give you a chance to familiarise yourself with the format.

Thanks for everyone who attended our launch!

A big thank you to everybody that was able to make it down to our launch last week. We got lots of good commends and feedback from the session which we are now using to make some revisions to the toolkit. When the next version of the toolkit is available you will be able to download it here!

Test Stage Begins!

Privacy and dignity should form a core part of the care of the individual throughout their pathway of care. “Dignity is concerned with how people feel, think and behave in relation to the worth or value of themselves and others…when dignity is present people feel in control, valued, confident, comfortable and able to make decisions for themselves” (Reference: RCN 2008).

By asking the workforce to audit services, not only will this promote the Dignity Challenge and what it wants to achieve, but will also provide organisations with a different point of view on what they are doing well and not so well.

We are excited to announce that we are looking for organisations to help us test the Dignity Toolkit that has been developed over the last year, by joining a Dignity Toolkit Task & Finish Group.

We are proud of our Dignity Toolkit which has been a  joint initiative between Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Primary Care Trust, Liverpool Social Care Partnership, Liverpool Health & Social Care Champions and representatives of the City’s service users and carers and hope it will become a valuable tool to ensure dignity is maintained throughout our sector. We hope our toolkit will also benefit your organisation by enabling you to recognise the areas in which you excel in dignity and equally to identify those areas where more work needs to be implemented.

This is alpha test stage of the toolkit, which means your organisation could be one of the first to use the Liverpool Dignity Toolkit. Additionally, the tool is a way of benchmarking performance against  CQC Inspection outcomes (Care Quality Commission) and Local Authority compliance.
